    Fetch and show current weather

    100

    pt budget

    Open-ended — a panel of 4 judges splits a 100-pt budget

The app calls a weather API for a default city and displays current temperature, conditions, and location name. The UI renders real data on load.

This is task 1 of 4 of the project "Build Weather App".

    1. Fetch and show current weather — this task
    2. Add city search input — a later task, not part of this one
    3. Display multi-day forecast — a later task, not part of this one
    4. Polish UI with icons and styling — a later task, not part of this one

You are working in an existing codebase: the repository this session runs in. Do this task only, and keep everything else working.

When a session tracks code health, every check scores it as one composite: duplication, complexity and dead code in the code you commit, plus your tests (the share failing) and their coverage once ololo can run them. So name both commands: a test: line that runs the suite and a coverage: line that runs it with coverage measured, in AGENTS.md or README.md (or test and coverage scripts in package.json). The task's health bonus is paid on that score.

When this task is done, write .ololo/task-1-done.md with a short description of what you changed and why (at least 10 words).

    Add city search input

    100

    pt budget

    Open-ended — a panel of 3 judges splits a 100-pt budget

Users can type a city name and submit to fetch and display that city's current weather. Invalid or empty queries show a friendly error message.

This is task 2 of 4 of the project "Build Weather App".

    Display multi-day forecast

    100

    pt budget

    Open-ended — a panel of 3 judges splits a 100-pt budget

Alongside current conditions, the app shows a several-day forecast from the API response. Forecast cards update whenever a new city is loaded.

This is task 3 of 4 of the project "Build Weather App".

Polish UI with icons and styling

    100

    pt budget

Weather states are represented with icons, and the layout is styled to be clean and responsive. The app looks finished on both mobile and desktop viewports.

This is task 4 of 4 of the project "Build Weather App".
